With a “Monafied” machine, it is truly amazing how quick and easy it is to remove all traces of the black clay
you’ve just been using, to keep from streaking-up your next work!
The manufacturer of the Atlas machines, Mercato in Italy, made a scraper blade design change in late 2022.
We offer TWO sizes of the new version of Atlas pasta machines - 150 and 180
Both of the new machines have black plastic scraper blades held in place with rods.
We improved these rods with our modification, by adding a knob to help grip and remove the rod, so that you can continue to easily clean your scraper blades.
We remove the fenders on both sizes/styles of pasta machines.
We continue to modify your existing Atlas pasta machines, for both scraper blade styles.

Our Story
Mona & Rainer Kissel and the “Monafied” Atlas pasta machines
My husband Rainer invented the modification of Atlas pasta machine scraper blades more than 25 years ago, for the polymer clay world. I returned from a week long National Polymer Clay Guild retreat, and asked him to take my machine apart so I could clean the blades. His answer was to make the scraper blades removable for easy cleaning. No more need to take the entire pasta machine apart!
Our machines have been bought by clayers world-wide since those days!
Several years ago, the manufacturers of these fine Italian pasta machines replaced the metal scraper blades, which keep the clay from wrapping around the rollers, with a white plastic tipped blade. This made it difficult to use Atlas machines with the original white tipped blades for clay. To solve this problem, we developed, and offer to the polymer clay world, replacement metal blades in our modification process to make your claying easier.
How It Works
You will be able to unscrew a small thumb nut on each blade, remove it, wipe it clean with a paper towel, reinsert, and continue claying.
We highly recommend using only a paper towel, plus some alcohol if needed, and no tools that scratch or bend the blades.

Frequently Asked Questions
We occasionally get asked If it is possible to just send someone the modified scraper blades plus instructions how to modify your own machine. That is not possible. Our process involves taking the Atlas pasta machine apart to modify it, using our custom manufactured components.
We have shipped our machines internationally for many years, to every continent. Unfortunately we are at the mercy of international shipping rates. To keep the cost manageable, one option could be for you and a local friend to pool your orders.
Please email us for current international shipping prices.
We do not sell the Atlas motors, but you can find them online, at Ebay and sometimes in thrift stores.
Instructions for metal scraper blade removal:
When removing/replacing the blades, set the machine to the widest ( # 0 ) setting.
Place pasta machine up side down.
Unscrew the thumb nut.
Pull out the scraper blade.
Using a soft cloth or paper towel moistened with some alcohol, wipe the blade clean. Don’t use a knife or other hard object.
Re-install the blade, and screw on the thumb nut.
Instructions for new black plastic scraper blade removal:
Set adjuster knob to #3 ! Place pasta machine up-side-down on your work surface.
While pressing both ends of the rod slightly against the blade, push the rod sideways with the help of the knob, until the end is free. Remove rod and blade from the machine.
Use soft paper towel to gently wipe off all clay.
To Install the rod/blade:
Put the rod in its groove in the blade with the long end of the rod sticking out over one edge of the blade.
Insert the rod all the way into a side plate hole.
Line up the other end of the blade and rod on the roller.
Slide the rod sideways with the help of the knob until it locks in the hole in the plate.
